Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Assessment
For many reasons people of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island descent are more at risk of developing a number of diseases and have a reduced life expectancy from other Australians.
For this reason you will be asked if you identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander when you attend the Practice. This information will be treated confidentially as is all patient information, and with cultural sensitivity but, this knowledge allows us to tailor your health care appropriately.
The Health Assessment is available each year to all persons who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, regardless of age and can be a vital tool in helping to prevent or reduce serious illness through early detection and treatment.
