As such they bring to the Practice the level of care and attention that patients have a right to expect. As an established Practice on the Gold Coast we have developed a close working relationship with many allied health professionals and specialists in the area and we hope that this is advantageous to our patients in arranging appointments as necessary.

What is a Medical Practice Assistant
Medical Practice Assistants are a relatively new addition to practices in Australia although the role is well established in the United States and Europe. Graduates of the Certificate IV course are trained to perform a wide range of administrative and clinical assisting tasks required in the general practice. As well as routine administrative and secretarial duties this includes taking blood pressures, performing ECGs, dressings, recording paediatric milestones and assisting the doctor with procedures. The Medical Practice Assistant may also be involved in recording progress and goals in chronic disease management and the formulation of GP Management Plans. The course has been developed in collaboration with doctors, nurses and other health professionals and was incorporated into the National Health Training Package (HLT07) in 2007.
